Bristol: when customers ask about your values, not just your prices

Along Gloucester Road, in Stokes Croft or around the harbourside, many Bristol customers ask where things come from, whether there is a vegan option or if they can bring their own container. Those questions deserve accurate answers. This page shows how an assistant answers them only from what you have written, and hands anything uncertain back to you.

  • Answers only from your entries; no invented claims
  • Allergy and sourcing questions handed to a person when unclear
  • Website, shop catalogue and your own notes as sources

Eight questions Bristol independents hear more than most

Collected from cafés, refill shops, studios and salons. Next to each, what to write down.

  • “Is it vegan?” A clear list in your entries or on your menu page.
  • “Where do you get your coffee / flour / fabric?” Name suppliers if you want to; otherwise the assistant hands over.
  • “Can I bring my own container?” Your refill and reusable policy.
  • “Is the shop step-free?” Entrance, toilet, space for a wheelchair or buggy.
  • “Do you have a bike rack?” Nearest parking for bikes and cars.
  • “Is this organic?” Only what you can stand behind.
  • “Does this contain nuts?” Better handed to a person by keyword, even if ingredients are listed.
  • “What do you do with my data?” Link to your privacy notice. AI processing of messages only starts once you have consented in the panel.

Harbourside, Gloucester Road and the bridge: Bristol in brief

Bristol is a harbour city with aerospace engineering, two universities and a strong creative streak. Gloucester Road is known as one of the longest runs of independent shops in the country, Stokes Croft for its street art, Clifton for its suspension bridge and Georgian terraces, and the harbourside for its restaurants and boats. In August, hot-air balloons fill the sky for the annual fiesta.

The city has a reputation for green and ethical choices, and many customers act on it. They ask before they buy, and they notice if an answer sounds like marketing.

That makes accuracy more important than speed. An assistant that invents a claim about sourcing or ingredients can do more harm in Bristol than one that says “let me check”.

A refill shop on Gloucester Road, answering carefully

A made-up conversation through the shop’s website chat. Refill policy and product list are in its entries; allergies are set as a handoff.

Customer: Hi, can I bring my own jars for oats and lentils?
Assistant: Hi. Yes, bring clean, dry containers and the team will weigh them before you fill up. Oats and red and green lentils are usually in stock.
Customer: Are the oats gluten-free? My daughter is coeliac.
Assistant: I do not want to answer that without checking, because of cross-contact in refill bins. I am passing your question to the shop so someone can reply personally.
Sample conversation. The assistant only answers from the information you give it.

The assistant could have guessed from a product name. It did not, because the shop set allergy and coeliac as handoff keywords. The team is notified by text and email when the customer accepts the handoff.

What the assistant may say, and what it leaves to you

May say

  • Whatever is written in your entries or on your website
  • Opening hours, prices, location, parking
  • Free appointments and tables from your calendar
  • General policies such as refills, dogs or laptops

Leaves to you

  • Allergies, intolerances and anything health-related
  • Claims about sourcing or certification you have not written down
  • Complaints and special requests
  • Anything not in its sources; it does not invent answers

A Bristol agency, a freelancer or your own words?

Businesses that trade on their values usually want to keep their voice. AYDUKE is not an agency and does not write posts for you. It publishes what you write at the time you choose, across every account you pick, and answers routine questions in your tone. If you work with an agency, it can schedule its posts in the same panel.

Freelancers and small agencies in the city can use AYDUKE for their own clients too: several businesses’ accounts in one login within the plan’s account limit, reports as XLSX or CSV, and commission through the free reseller programme at /bayilik.php on referred businesses for as long as they keep paying.

Accounts connect through your own developer app with OAuth, with a step-by-step guide for each platform in the panel. AYDUKE is online software from a UK-registered company and has no office in Bristol.

Frequently asked questions

Can the assistant say we are carbon neutral?

Only if you write it in your entries. It repeats what you give it and does not invent claims. Whether a claim is allowed is for you to check; we do not give legal advice.

Does it read our online shop?

Yes, Shopify and WooCommerce catalogues are read. Otherwise AYDUKE can read up to 500 pages of your verified website, refreshed weekly; your own entries take priority.

Do customers get text reminders for bookings?

Not in the UK at present. They get confirmation and reminder emails with a link to view or cancel.

Can I see what customers ask most often?

Yes. Chat analysis groups messages, comments and website chats by category, sentiment, urgency and topic.

How do I pay?

By card through Stripe, where card details never touch AYDUKE’s servers, or by bank transfer. See plans.
