Birmingham, city of quarters: when customers come for a specialist

Birmingham is organised into quarters, each known for something: jewellery, food, creative studios, nightlife. People travel across the West Midlands to a particular specialist, and they ask detailed questions first. This page shows how specialist businesses answer those questions from their own information, book consultations and keep their channels going.

  • Detailed questions answered from your entries and website
  • Consultations and fittings booked with the right person
  • Confirmation and reminder emails, no phone tag

Specialists

What people travel into Birmingham for, and what they ask first

  • A jeweller in the Jewellery Quarter

Engagement rings, repairs, bespoke pieces. Customers ask about lead times, metals and whether they can book a private appointment.

  • A restaurant for a celebration

Large family tables, dietary needs, set menus. Groups want a firm answer before they tell everyone.

  • A tattoo or piercing studio

Consultations, deposits, aftercare. Artists are often busy with clients when messages arrive.

  • A bridal or tailoring shop

Fittings with set durations, alterations, collection dates.

  • A creative studio in Digbeth

Photo shoots, workshops, studio hire by the hour.

Quarters, canals and a young city

Birmingham grew as a city of making, and its quarters still reflect that. The Jewellery Quarter has hundreds of workshops and shops, the Chinese Quarter and the Balti Triangle are known for food, and Digbeth has turned old warehouses into studios and venues. The canal network runs through the centre, the universities bring large student populations, and the exhibition centre near the airport draws visitors from across the country.

The city is young and diverse, and customers come in from across the West Midlands, from Solihull to Wolverhampton. Many of them have already compared three or four businesses before they write to yours. They want specific answers: how long, how much, what is included, can I come in on Saturday.

For specialist businesses, those questions take time to answer well, and they arrive while you are working on someone’s ring, menu or tattoo.

An enquiry to a jeweller on a weekday evening

A made-up conversation through Instagram DM. Consultation types, lead times and metal options are saved as entries; prices are set to be discussed in person.

Customer: Hi, I’m looking at engagement rings. Can I come in to see some options this weekend? I’d rather not just walk in.
Assistant: Hi. Yes, private consultations last about 45 minutes. This Saturday there are slots at 11:00 and 14:30.
Customer: 14:30 please. How long would a made-to-order ring take?
Assistant: The workshop usually needs four to six weeks for a made-to-order ring, depending on the design and stones. I have booked you for Saturday at 14:30; a confirmation email is on its way with a link to cancel if needed.
Customer: Roughly what budget should I expect?
Assistant: That depends a lot on the design, so the jeweller prefers to discuss prices at the consultation. I will pass your question on so they can come prepared.
Sample conversation. The assistant only answers from the information you give it.

The lead time and consultation length came from the jeweller’s entries; the price question was set as a handoff. The jeweller is notified of the booking by text and email.

Setting up a specialist business in an afternoon

  1. Connect your accounts

Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and website chat through your own developer app with OAuth. The panel has a step-by-step guide for each; it takes care rather than seconds.

  2. Let AYDUKE read your website

Once you verify ownership, up to 500 pages are read and refreshed weekly. Shopify and WooCommerce catalogues are read too.

  3. Write what the website leaves out

Lead times, deposits, aftercare, parking, how to find you in the quarter.

  4. Decide what needs a human

Prices for bespoke work, deposits, complaints, medical questions about piercings. Set those as handoff keywords.

  5. Start in draft mode

Approve every reply for the first week, then let routine answers go out automatically.

A Birmingham agency for your brand, or software for the routine?

Specialists often have a strong look and a story worth telling, and an agency can help with that. AYDUKE is not an agency and does not create content. It schedules what you or your agency make and handles the questions afterwards.

The routine in-house

Post your work on Instagram, Facebook and your Google Business Profile from one calendar, and short videos on TikTok and YouTube. The assistant answers enquiries and books consultations. More on specific trades: Hairdressers, Restaurants, Wedding planners, Independent boutiques.

With an agency, or as one

Agencies and freelancers can run several clients’ accounts in one login within their plan’s account limit and share reports as XLSX or CSV. Through the free reseller programme at /bayilik.php they earn commission on referred businesses for as long as those keep paying. AYDUKE has no office in Birmingham; it is online software from a UK-registered company.
