Glasgow on a gig night: tables before the show, drinks after it
Glasgow is a city of live music, big football and busy weekends. On a night when a major act plays the arena, restaurants near Finnieston and the city centre fill up early, and salons get bookings for the afternoon before. This page shows how to handle those peaks with time slots, quick answers and scheduled posts, and what changes around Scottish holidays.
- Early pre-show tables with their own capacity
- Answers on timing, distance and kitchen hours from your entries
- Scottish holiday dates added once, not explained a hundred times

Gig nights
How a Finnieston restaurant splits a gig night into time slots
A made-up set-up. Doors open at 7pm, the headliner is on at 9pm.
| Slot | Capacity | Rule | What the assistant says |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17:00 to 18:45 | limited, set menu | tables must be free by 18:45 | Two courses take about an hour; ten minutes’ walk to the arena |
| 19:00 to 21:30 | normal | full menu | Free tables from the calendar |
| 22:30 onwards | bar and a few tables | small plates only | Kitchen hours after the show |
| Groups of 8+ | with approval | pre-order from the group menu | Handed to the team |
You set slots, capacity and rules. On ordinary nights you switch the pre-show slot off again.
The day of a big show, from the restaurant’s side
A made-up example. Pre-show slots opened a month ahead; reminder emails go out the day before.
- 09:00Overnight, twelve messages asked about tables before the show. The assistant filled the remaining pre-show seats and offered after-show tables to the rest.
- 12:00A scheduled post goes out on Instagram, Facebook and the Google Business Profile: pre-show sold out, walk-ins welcome at the bar after 10pm.
- 17:00Pre-show diners arrive. The kitchen knows these tables turn by quarter to seven.
- 18:50Tables are reset for the regular evening.
- 22:40The bar fills. Two people asked in the chat whether food is still on and got the answer from the entries.
Music, football and the West End: Glasgow in brief
Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and has a reputation for live music, from small rooms to the big arena on the Clyde. Football draws huge crowds on match days, and the West End around Byres Road, the Merchant City and the Southside each have their own restaurants, bars and independent shops. The universities keep the city young.
For hospitality and beauty businesses, that means peaks that are easy to predict but hard to staff: gig nights, match days, graduation weeks, Christmas. Customers ask about timing, distance to the venue and whether the kitchen is still open, often from the train in.
Scotland also has its own calendar. Bank holidays differ from England, with 2 January and St Andrew’s Day among them, and Glasgow has its own traditional summer holiday weekend. If your hours change, write that down once so the assistant can say it every time.
A pre-show booking over Instagram
A made-up conversation. The restaurant’s entries include the pre-show menu, timing and walking distance.
Customers receive confirmation and reminder emails; AYDUKE does not send text reminders to customers in the UK. The restaurant hears about new bookings by text and email.

A Glasgow agency, or handling gig nights yourself?
AYDUKE is not a social media agency and does not write your posts. It is the software that publishes what you prepare, answers messages and takes bookings.
Yourself
Draft your gig-night and match-day posts in a quiet week, schedule them for every account, and let the assistant handle the questions. Connect accounts through your own developer app with OAuth, following the panel’s step-by-step guides.
With an agency, or as one
An agency can keep producing content and schedule it in the same panel. Freelancers managing several Glasgow venues can keep those accounts in one login within their plan’s account limit and send XLSX or CSV reports. The free reseller programme at /bayilik.php pays commission for referred businesses while they keep paying.
No office in Scotland: AYDUKE is online software from a UK-registered company, with no affiliation to any venue or club mentioned here. The assistant knows only your entries, website and calendar, so it will not know a gig has been moved unless you tell it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I open pre-show slots only on certain nights?
Yes. Create the pre-show service and make it bookable only on the dates you choose; on other nights it simply does not appear.
Do guests get text reminders?
Not in the UK at present. They get confirmation and reminder emails with a link to view or cancel.
What if a gig is cancelled?
Post the update to all your accounts at once and update your entry. Guests can cancel through the link in their confirmation email; the assistant will not cancel bookings on its own.
Do scheduled posts use AI credits?
No. Posting, the calendar and reports use no credits; only the assistant’s replies do.
How do I pay?
By card through Stripe, where card details never touch AYDUKE’s servers, or by bank transfer. See plans.
