Falls, Hoopfest and the mountains: Spokane at a glance
Spokane is the hub of the Inland Northwest, with the Spokane Falls running through Riverfront Park downtown. Gonzaga and other universities bring students and basketball crowds, Hoopfest turns downtown into rows of courts each summer, and Bloomsday fills the streets with runners in spring. The base at Fairchild sits to the west.
The outdoors is a big part of life here. Ski areas are within an hour, the Spokane River and nearby lakes draw paddlers and anglers, and the Centennial Trail connects the city to Idaho. Neighborhoods like the South Hill, Kendall Yards and the Garland District are full of small shops that serve this lifestyle.
Those shops live by the seasons, and lately by the air quality too. Late-summer wildfire smoke can close rental counters for days. Being able to tell customers quickly is part of the job.
How a seasonal shop sets up its services

| Kayak rental | May to September | half day, six kayaks | Life jackets included; river level guidance in store |
| Paddleboard rental | June to September | half day, four boards | Minimum age and weight limits |
| Free gear check | year-round | 15 minutes | No appointment needed for quick checks |

A smoky morning in August
A made-up conversation over Instagram DM. The shop has an entry about smoke-day closures and posted an update at 7 a.m.
The decision to close was the owner’s, made at 6:30 a.m. The assistant only repeated it from the entries and the morning post, and handed off the rebooking.

Frequently asked questions
Can I post a closure to every account at once?
Yes. Write it once, pick Instagram, Facebook, your Google Business Profile and Telegram if you use it, and publish or schedule. Update the closure entry so the assistant says the same thing.
Can customers rent several kayaks in one booking?
Rentals use capacity, so you set how many are available per slot. Test multi-item bookings in the demo to see how they fit your setup.
Do customers get text reminders?
Not in the US. They get confirmation and reminder emails with a link to view or cancel. You get new bookings by text and email.
Can the assistant tell customers about river conditions?
Only what you write in your entries. It has no live data and will not guess.
How do I pay?
By card through Stripe, where card details never touch AYDUKE’s servers, or by bank transfer. See plans.
