Test, measure, adjust: a Columbus approach to social media

Columbus has long been a place where national brands try things before launching them everywhere else. Local businesses can borrow the habit: change one thing, run it for a few weeks, look at what happened. This page sets out small experiments for posting, replies and booking, and what AYDUKE can and cannot measure.

  • Reschedule posts by changing the time, without rewriting them
  • Switch the assistant between draft and autonomous mode
  • Publishing reports compare each period with the one before

Small experiments

Borrowing the test-market habit

Consumer companies have used this city to try out products for years, because its mix of students, young professionals, families and state and corporate workers is often described as a small version of the country.

For a coffee shop in the Short North or a barbershop in German Village, the lesson is smaller and more practical: do not overhaul everything at once. Try one change, keep everything else the same, and give it a few weeks.

Ohio State sets much of the rhythm: move-in weeks, fall football Saturdays when the city fills with visitors, quieter summers near campus. Experiments give cleaner answers when you avoid comparing a game weekend with a quiet one.

Five experiments worth running, one at a time

  1. Posting time

Move your Instagram posts from lunchtime to early evening for three weeks. Change only the time, by rescheduling each post in the calendar.

  2. Reply mode

Let the assistant answer routine topics on its own instead of drafting for approval, and watch whether more chats end in a booking.

  3. Chat link placement

Put the chat link and QR code in your Instagram bio, on your Google profile and on a counter card. Compare the chat bookings in your calendar before and after.

  4. Weekly Google posts

Add one Google Business Profile post a week for a month: hours, a service, an event.

  5. Booking rules

Allow bookings further ahead, or shorten the cancellation window, and see how the calendar fills.

Experiment two on a football Saturday

An illustrative conversation, not a real customer. The barbershop moved routine questions to autonomous mode, and the times come from its calendar.

Customer: you guys open before the game saturday? need a quick cut
Assistant: Hi. Yes, we open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays. A standard cut takes about 30 minutes, and this Saturday 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. are still open. Want one of them?
Customer: 8:30
Assistant: Saturday at 8:30 a.m. is yours once you confirm. A confirmation email with a link to view or cancel is on its way, and a reminder email follows before the day.
Customer: confirmed, go bucks
Sample conversation. The assistant only answers from the information you give it.

The assistant said nothing about the game or the traffic; it knows neither. It answered hours, length and open times, which is what the owner set it up to do.

Testing with an agency, or testing on your own

If you searched for a Columbus social media agency or consultant: AYDUKE is software, not an agency. An agency can design the experiments and the creative. AYDUKE runs the routine side (scheduling, replies, bookings), which stays the same whoever does the planning.

Owner-run tests

You make the change in the calendar or the settings yourself and compare the reports. Accounts connect through your own developer app with step-by-step guides, the assistant learns from your website (up to 500 pages, refreshed weekly), and you decide when to switch modes.

Agency or freelancer tests

An agency can run the same experiment across several client accounts in one panel within its plan limit, see all the calendars together and share XLSX or CSV exports. The free reseller program adds commission for as long as referred businesses keep paying.

Change one thing at a time. Move posting times, rewrite your cancellation policy and start Google posts in the same month, and you will not know which one made the difference. Keep a short note of what you changed and when.

Run a first experiment in the demo

The demo account opens the moment you sign up, no credit card needed. Schedule a week of posts, switch reply modes and see how the reports look.

Frequently asked questions

Does AYDUKE show how many likes our Columbus posts get?

The publishing reports cover success rate, per-platform charts and comparison with the previous period, over 7, 30 or 90 days, 12 months or a custom range. For reach and likes, use each platform's own insights.

Game Saturdays are chaos for us. Can we pause online bookings on those days?

Yes. Block the hours or mark the day as closed in the calendar, and those slots disappear from the chat. Phone bookings can still be added by hand.

Will our customers get reminder texts?

No. Customers in the US get a confirmation email and a reminder email with a link to view or cancel. You get new-booking alerts by SMS and email.

Is there someone from AYDUKE in Columbus?

No. AYDUKE is remote software with no local office. You set it up yourself in the panel, and the contact page is there for questions.

Can we switch between draft and autonomous replies whenever we want?

You pick the mode in the panel and can change it later. Public comment replies have their own mode, which is off by default.
