Frequently asked questions

When do I use population vs sample?

Use population (N) when your data includes every member of the group. Use sample (N−1) when the data is a subset drawn from a larger population.

What is the interquartile range?

IQR = Q3 − Q1. It measures the spread of the middle 50% of data and is robust to outliers.

Can I paste from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Copy a column from Excel or Google Sheets — each value on a new line is accepted.
